Inventory Management Software in Kenya: Practical Guide

Make stock records useful, not merely digital.

Create reliable product records

Give products consistent names, units, barcodes where appropriate and a clear category. Staff should not create duplicate items for the same physical product.

Track the entire stock journey

Evaluate whether goods received, sales, transfers, wastage, adjustments and returns leave a clear history. A dashboard is only as accurate as the transactions feeding it.

Stock alerts and purchasing

Review minimum levels using actual demand and supplier lead times, not arbitrary defaults. Use purchase history and frequent physical counts to identify discrepancies.

For multi-branch businesses

Confirm whether stock is tracked separately by location and whether transfers affect both branches. Check access permissions, branch reconciliation and consolidated reporting.

A note on product capabilities

This guide explains how to evaluate a POS solution. It does not establish that every feature discussed is currently included in EUJIM POS. Ask for a product demonstration and a written specification.
